New Teton Wall Calendar app gets $4 million investment

Hacker News article New Taconic Wall Calendar developer DontWaste has announced a new $4.2 million funding round led by DigitalOcean, a Silicon Valley start-up backed by the likes of Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, and Warren Buffett.

The round brings Dontwaste’s total funding to $13 million, including the option to buy additional shares at $10 per share.

The fund’s co-founder and chief executive, Mike Hines, said that his company was inspired by the rise of digital calendars, which offer a flexible and easy way for businesses to track employee activity, while maintaining a high degree of privacy.

Dontwastes Wall Calendar was first released in 2016, and has been praised for its ease of use and simplicity.

A number of features like automatic email updates and a calendar for your pets have been added to the app since then.

“We see this as a great opportunity to continue expanding Teton’s capabilities and expanding its community,” Hines told the company’s website.

“The new funding will allow us to accelerate development and deliver new features to our users and our existing loyal customers.”

Dont, along with fellow developer Khaos Capital, had already announced plans to create a Wall Calendar for the Teton Mountain ecosystem.

“Teton has always been the birthplace of the wall calendar,” Dont Wasted’s founder and chief financial officer, Scott Siegel, told TechCrunch in a statement.

“We believe it will be an invaluable resource for Teton users.”

Users can use the calendar to mark their calendar events or keep track of their appointments and upcoming events, and the app offers an extensive library of calendars from more than 120 providers.
